Season: September is harvest time in Tuscany! Expect comfortable temperatures (typically 65-80°F/18-27°C), fewer crowds than summer, and the excitement of the wine harvest season.

Day 1: Welcome to Florence (September 22)

  • Afternoon: Individual arrivals and check-in at our carefully selected 4-star hotel near the historic city center

  • Late afternoon: Meet for aperitivo at an elegant wine bar with Duomo views

  • Early evening: Welcome dinner at a local trattoria known for traditional Tuscan cuisine

  • Evening: Trip overview and introductions

Day 2: The Heart of Florence (September 23)

  • Morning: Private guided walking tour (1 to 1.5 hours) of historic Florence

  • Late Morning: “Skip-the-line” visit to the Accademia Gallery to see Michelangelo's David

  • Afternoon: After the Accademia, we pause for a leisurely lunch at a charming trattoria with plenty of time to rest feet and absorb the morning’s sights.

  • Late Afternoon and Evening: Free time for shopping, dinner or relaxation

Day 3: Tuscan Wine Country (September 24)

  • Morning: Depart for the Chianti region

  • Late Morning: Visit to a family-run estate and winery, including cellar tour and tasting

  • Lunch: Al fresco lunch among the olive groves

  • Late Afternoon: Explore the charming town of San Gimignano with a visit to the Gelato World Champion, Gelateria Dondoli!

  • Evening: Return to Florence for a free evening

  • Dinner recommendations provided for authentic local restaurants

Day 4: Florence Artisans & Personal Discoveries (September 25)

  • Morning: After breakfast, a casual stroll across the Ponte Vecchio bridge into the Oltrarno district, Florence’s artisan heart.

  • Late Morning: Visit traditional workshops, including leather crafting, paper marbling, and goldsmithing.

  • Lunch: Enjoy a leisurely group lunch at a local trattoria tucked away from the crowds.

  • Afternoon: Enjoy personal time to explore Florence at your own pace. Your GlidePath host will provide customized recommendations if you'd like guidance—perhaps a Duomo tour, Vespa ride, Arno river cruise, spa massage, Uffizi visit, or a hidden Palazzo Vecchio experience. Or simply sit with a cappuccino and journal—this is your time.

  • Late Afternoon: Optional coffee or wine meet-up at a charming café to share discoveries.

  • Evening: No formal group dinner tonight. You're free to wander, rest, or dine solo or with new friends at a place that suits your mood.

Day 5: Emilia-Romagna Discovery (September 26)

  • Morning: Check out of Florence hotel and embark on a short 45 minute private transport to Bologna, lovingly known as 'La Grassa' (The Fat One) for its rich culinary heritage. This medieval city is considered Italy's gastronomic capital and the birthplace of legendary dishes including authentic tagliatelle al ragù (the true Bolognese sauce) and tortellini in brodo.

  • Late Morning: Exclusive cooking class at CIBO Cooking School

    • Learn traditional pasta-making techniques

    • Prepare classic Bolognese sauces

    • Enjoy your creations for lunch with wine pairings

  • Afternoon: Short 45-minute private transport to Modena

  • Evening: Check-in to our boutique hotel in Modena

  • Dinner suggestions will be made.

Day 6: Modena's Culinary Treasures (September 27)

  • Morning: Visit to a traditional balsamic vinegar producer in Modena, the birthplace of authentic Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale DOP

    • This "black gold" of Italian cuisine has been slowly aged in wooden barrels for generations, creating a luxurious condiment that's treasured by food connoisseurs worldwide. This is the real balsamic vinegar, and after trying it, you’ll think you’ve never actually tasted it before!

  • Late Morning: Private tour of a family-run Parmigiano-Reggiano facility

    • Witness the traditional cheese-making process

    • Learn about aging and grading

    • Taste different aged varieties

    • Bring some home as souvenirs! Your friends and family will exclaim Grazie Mille!

  • Afternoon: Tour of Modena's historic center

  • Free time for exploring or shopping

  • Evening: Farewell dinner at an elegant restaurant celebrating Emilia-Romagna cuisine

    • Share favorite moments from our journey

Day 7: Arrivederci (September 28)

  • Morning: Leisurely breakfast

  • Individual departures

  • Optional transfer to Bologna, Florence or Milan airports or suggestions for extending your stay to Milan, Venice or elsewhere.
